Some people wonder how a person can get so attached to any kind of animal. For those of us who
have, well you know how strong that love can be. Especially for those who have a greyhound!
About four years, ago I had a surgery that left me unable have children, so my husband bought me a
dachshund, named Trixie. She was and is an awesome dog. She is so lovable, has such an awesome disposition and her humor is so funny.

Louie and I got married and moved into an apartment. We didn't want to take her from what she was used to and familiar surroundings, and "grandma" was not wanting us to take her away, so we  didn't. We moved into a house and we decided to let grandma and grandpa adopt her, they both had gotten really attached to her.

Now we where getting lonely and were thinking about what kind of dog we wanted to get. My husband and I work with Janie's husband and he had told us about greyhounds. Since we had had no children, we would be good parents. So we went to go see.

It was so amazing to see them. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think about a greyhound. We
walked in, and we looked. We knew right when we saw him, he smiled at both of us and my heart just
dropped. His name, E's Alvin. My husband and I looked at each other and told Janie "that's him".

The next week we picked him up. Having really no idea what to expect, he was so scared. I remember
when we went to the class all things I had no idea about. We got him home and it only took him
less than a week to make himself at home.

He has a friend Pumpkin. She was a stray. She's a black cat and they love each other. They sleep together and play together. Sometimes it's so funny.

I never thought a dog could be so funny and so lovable. I don't know what we would do if we didn't
have Alvin. Of course he is a mama's dog. He sleeps with both of us. Good thing we have a king
size bed or we both would be out of a bed! He loves the kids in the neighborhood and they love him.
They will come over and ask if Alvin can come out and play. He is our kid we love him and he loves us.
He knows when daddy's coming home. He will start looking out the window for him. When he and I come in the door he gives us a big smile.

Alvin is our life and we thank Janie for bringing him into our lives. Can't imagine life without him.
