I have been a greyhound lover for many years and finally my husband and I agreed that the time was right to adopt. We finally had a big house with a yard any dog would love. We looked around online, went to meet and greets and put in an application with Greythounds of Eastern Michigan. We were approved and started looking at their available dogs,
we decided that we wanted a girl and they had three we thought we'd like to meet. So we contacted the adoption coordinator and their foster moms.
Fate took up the reins and put Fern in a foster home the next town over. We went over to meet her after work and thought she was a doll! What sealed the deal for me was when I stopped petting her and she head butted me, and looked up with those beautiful brown eyes to say, "hey, don't stop!". That was it! I had found my dog, we decided we didn't even want to meet the other two.

She is such a joy!! Everyday to come home to her happy face and a tail
wagging so hard her butt is wriggling. Fern lives with my husband
Shawn, myself and our two cats Nala and Seven. She loves her backyard
to run around in and show off exactly how fast, fast can be. She enjoys
it when other Greyhounds or Whippets come over to visit and our
neighbors have a Jack Russell mix named Peetie that she loves to run up
and down the fence line with.
Fern loves food, Shawn calls her his Chowhound, and will come and get
you if it is eating time. Some days I think she has learned how to
count the clock chimes! She loves treats of all kinds, but especially
the Good Life cookies we got from GEM f or Christmas. She loves to crack
into them and it makes lots of crumbs, but Nala and Seven are more than
happy to help on clean up.
Fern has definitely enriched our lives. Thank you so much for putting
this darling girl up for adoption, and enabling her to find her humans.
